Cherry Blossoms Bring Tourists

With spring comes tourists. I expect them on the metro to and from work and I expect to see them during my lunch break as they meander the streets in search of the museums. I did not expect them to infiltrate my weekends. But this weekend, as we drove to the Air and Space Museum in search of kites, there they were. Lined up at the entrance, tagged with their names and their sponsoring organizations. Some in shorts, despite the 50 degee weather, others in suits and dresses. Of course, I had to buy my kite on the same day as the Cherry Blossom Parade. There were enough tourists to convince me not to attempt to visit the museums on the weekends. At least not until tourist season ends in the fall. But that's not exactly true because nothing beats a good free foreign film on a sunday afternoon.
